Job Description
The Campus Management and Development Office (CMDO) of the University of Macau invites applications for the position of Principal Administrative Officer at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP65,330 to MOP69,090 (index 695 – 735). This position will be responsible for the construction of the new campus in Hengqin.
Responsibilities
- Work with the team to oversee the entire construction of the new campus in Hengqin to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget and to the quality standards;
- Manage and coordinate with designers, consultants, contractors, government departments (Mainland China and Macao SAR) and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project period;
- Prepare and review project documents, including contracts and tender documents, design drawings, specifications, budget plans and construction programmes, etc.;
- Sound knowledge in compliance with all relevant government laws and regulations, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and best practices in construction;
- Ensure efficient and safe site management by attending regular project meetings, conducting site inspections, coordinating tasks, monitoring progress, and promptly resolving any issues that arise during the project;
- Prepare and submit regular site progress, quality, environmental, and safety reports to the management, and handle proposals and correspondence for government entities;
- Supervise the site team and ensure proper management and archiving of all project drawings, documents, and records;
- Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/ Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus;
- At least 10 years of full time work experience in large-scale public construction projects;
- Managerial experience in large-scale cross-border (Mainland China and Macao SAR) construction projects is definitely an advantage;
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, technologies, and relevant laws and regulations;
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and take responsibility for outcomes;
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin);
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Able to commute to Hengqin frequently and fulfill assigned duties.
