I am a highly methodical, professional and conscientious worker. I can be trusted to turn up for work every day and do my best. I am also highly adaptable, having done a number of different jobs in my working career.
In addition to being a teacher, I am also a blogger and have written over 50 articles on living and teaching in China. I am therefore also keen to explore opportunities in journalism, publishing, editing etc.
In the UK, I spent 4 years working in the field of telecommunications. This was an absolutely fascinating field that I would definitely consider going into again.
I hold a BA in Business Administration and an MA in Information Management. I am therefore also qualified for roles in management and administration.

As the premier TEFL qualification awarded by Cambridge University, this course consisted of the following modules: Awareness of the teaching and learning context, Language Analysis, Language Skills, Planning & Use of Resources and Development of Teaching Skills & Professionalism
Work & Experience
In this role, I taught IELTS Speaking to Engineering students and conducted an exam twice a semester.
Assignments have included teaching CET and IELTS speaking, writing skills, study skills, campus English and oral English. I have also taught the Yale course which is an evening course aimed at broadening students’ international horizons. Outside of teaching, I am involved in English Corners and the International Cultural Exchange Association activities.
In this role, I taught Business English Reading to students majoring in Education, Translation and Business. I also helped to run an English Corner activity once a week with the other foreign teachers.
In this role, I taught oral English to students majoring in Tourism English and English Education and ran an English Corner once a week. I also taught English at Huangcheng Primary School once a week.
In this role, I taught the subject of Western Management. Here I was able to develop my experience in syllabus design, setting, invigilating and marking exams.
In this role, I taught the subject of English-speaking Countries to university students. I was also responsible for syllabus design, setting, invigilating and marking exams.
As a Secondment Employee to Openreach, I worked in various roles including LLU Provisons, LLU Repair, WLR2, Migration Services and fielding customer calls.
During my time at KCC, I worked mainly in 2 roles. I was a Library Assistant from 1998 to 2002 and an Administrator from 2002 till 2006.
