Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (北京服装学院, website) was founded in February 1959, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Textile Technology, and was renamed Beijing Chemical Fiber Engineering College in July 1961. It is a key university built by the former Ministry of Textile Industry and mainly focusing on chemical fiber higher education. In February 1987, it was remodeled and expanded to Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology, the first clothing university in China.
