Bozhou College is a public undergraduate college for cultivating application-oriented talents. The college is located in Bozhou, the “National Historical and Cultural City”, “the first tourist city in China”, “the hometown of Chinese longevity” and “the hometown of Chinese five-animal play”. “Bozhou, Anhui Province. It is located at the southern end of the North China Plain and enjoys the reputation of “Chinese Medicine Capital” and “Chinese Wine City”. It is the birthplace of the Taoist culture and Chinese medicine culture, with sages such as Laozi, Zhuangzi, Cao Cao, Hua Tuo, Hua Mulan, and Chen Tuan.
The college began to operate in 1909 with the establishment of the Mengcheng Teachers’ Seminar, and in 1952 it set up the Mengcheng Normal School, which was independently upgraded to the Bozhou Normal College in March 2002 and Bozhou College in March 2016 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The college has 16 internal institutions and 11 teaching faculties. There are 13,040 full-time students in school. The campus covers an area of 1,526 mu, with a building area of 606,800 square meters, including a new campus under construction (Bozhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine) of 601 mu, with a building area of 265,000 square meters. It has a library of 1.01 million books, 229,000 electronic books, more than 640 kinds of electronic journals, and the total value of teaching and research equipment is about 130 million yuan. It has established friendly cooperation and exchanges with 8 foreign universities such as De La Salle University in the Philippines, Borin University in Thailand, Hanna University in Korea and Science University in Malaysia.
The college insists on the development of talents and continues to strengthen the construction of faculty. There are 611 faculty members, 513 full-time teachers, 66 professors, 125 associate professors and 85 doctors.
