Chongqing Electric Power College (重庆电力高等专科学校, website) is a full-time general technical college established by the Ministry of Education under the auspices of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, the Chongqing Education Commission, and the Chongqing Education Commission and the State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company.

The school’s predecessor, Chongqing Electrical Industry School, was established in May 1953 with the approval of the Central Ministry of Fuel Industry, and was later renamed Chongqing Electric Power Industry School. It is one of the first seven electric secondary professional schools in the country. In September 1953 it was renamed Chongqing Power School. In 1958 it was renamed Chongqing Electric Power School. In 1980 and 1994, it was identified as a national key secondary professional school. In 1995, it was upgraded to a higher vocational school with the approval of the State Education Commission. It is the only electric vocational college in the southwest region.

Chongqing Electric Power College consists of 6 teaching colleges including the School of Electric Power Engineering, the School of Power Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the Department of Quality Education, the Ministry of Physical Education, 18 administrative teaching assistants and 2 school-run industrial companies. Chongqing Electric Power College has 80 experimental training places with outstanding industry characteristics and advanced domestic technology.
