Gansu Finance and Trade Professional College (甘肃财贸职业学院, website) was established on February 29, 2016 with the approval of the Gansu Provincial People’s Government. It is organized by the Provincial Government and belongs to the Provincial Department of Education. It is the only public higher vocational school in the financial sector in the province. The college is based on the former Lanzhou Clothing Workers College. It is composed of seven banks: Gansu Bank School, Gansu Economic School, Gansu Finance and Trade School, Gansu Economic and Trade School, Gansu Business School, Gansu Business Administration School, and Gansu Art Design School. The schools directly under the provincial education department are integrated.

The college is located in the Vocational Education Park of Lanzhou New District. The campus has a total planned land area of 1,050 mu, a planned building area of 392,000 square meters, and a school size of 10,000. The first phase of the college has a total construction area of 187,500 square meters and a total investment of nearly 1.2 billion yuan, including 15 buildings, a total of 29 single units, outdoor engineering and supporting equipment and facilities. Among them, the total value of the training equipment built in the school and in the shared area reached 128 million yuan. The college is using the World Bank’s vocational education loan project of 45 million U.S. dollars, together with the college’s supporting funds totaling 341 million yuan, to carry out the second phase construction of the college, to further improve the school’s software and hardware school conditions.

Gansu Finance and Trade Professional College currently has 435 internal faculty members, 366 full-time teachers, 152 deputy or higher titles, and 123 employees. The college has 10 professional departments, including accounting, finance, logistics, economic management, art design, applied engineering, information technology, modern services, the public course teaching department and the ideological and political course teaching department. There are 16 higher vocational majors and 16 secondary vocational majors. In 2018, the college enrolled a total of 3754 new students, including 586 secondary vocational students and 3168 higher vocational students. The enrollment rate of higher vocational schools reached more than 95%. The college currently has 7036 vocational and secondary vocational students in 169 classes (among them 5453 are vocational students).

Gansu Finance and Trade Professional College is the chairman unit of Gansu Modern Logistics Vocational Education Group. The college attaches importance to practical teaching and school-enterprise cooperation, and has built more than 30 training bases inside and outside the province.
