Gongqing College of Nanchang University (南昌大学共青学院, website) is an independent college with a coordinated development of engineering, liberal arts, education, economics, management, and arts. The college is located at the southern foot of Lushan Mountain and the bank of the Pohu Lake-the Gongqing City in Jiangxi Province. It covers an area of 1014 acres, is strategically located, and has a beautiful campus environment.

Gongqing College of Nanchang University started in 1985 and was originally called “Gongqing Vocational College of Jiangxi University.” Comrade Hu Yaobang, then General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, personally wrote the name of the college. In 1991, the college was renamed “Gongxi College of Jiangxi University”. In 1993, the former Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Technology merged to form Nanchang University, and the college was renamed “Gongqing College of Nanchang University”. In 2002, with the approval of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, Jiangxi Provincial Development Planning Commission, and Jiangxi Provincial Economic System Reform Office, the introduction of social capital was restructured into the secondary college of Nanchang University. In 2003, the college was recognized as an independent college by the Ministry of Education.

Gongqing College of Nanchang University mainly cultivates high-quality, highly-skilled applied talents that meet the needs of regional economic and social development. Based on the actual situation of running a school, the college has formed a working idea that is guided by goals, unified thinking, problem-oriented, reformed and innovative, and based on talents. Gongqing College of Nanchang University currently has 410 faculty members. The college actively promotes teaching reform, strengthens content construction, improves teaching quality, takes teaching style construction as its core work, conducts various types of advanced character selection among teachers, and continuously improves teachers’ professional level and service capabilities.

Gongqing College of Nanchang University currently has 4,719 undergraduates. Students have repeatedly made great achievements in various national and provincial competitions. Won the “Red Dot Conceptual Design Award” known as the “Oscar” in the design industry, the first prize of the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, the gold medal of the 7th Vantage Industrial Design Competition, and the final of the “Oudifen” Cup China Lingerie Design Competition Gold award. More than 50 people won the special prize of the National College Student English Contest.

Gongqing College of Nanchang University currently has 8 teaching units including the Department of Economics and Trade, the Department of Chinese and Education, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Department of Engineering Technology, the Department of Information Engineering, the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Art and Design and the Department of Public Education. There are 22 undergraduate majors with art and design institutes.

Gongqing College of Nanchang University has continuously innovated its work content and won the first prize for outstanding achievements in party practice and ideological and political work in Jiangxi Independent College. The college has successively won the titles of advanced grass-roots party organizations in universities in the province, advanced collectives in ideological and political education in the province, Nanchang University’s first priority to enter grass-roots party organizations, and the Communist Youth City Advanced Party Working Committee.

Gongqing College of Nanchang University has a good academic style and a harmonious and stable campus. Awarded the Jiujiang Civilized Unit and the Advanced Unit of Governance of the Gongqing City. It has been awarded the Excellent Organization for Graduate Employment Work by Nanchang University for nine consecutive years. It has been named the Advanced Unit of Comprehensive Governance by the Gongqing City for eight consecutive years.
