The predecessor of Guangdong Business and Technology University (广东工商职业技术大学, website) was the Oriental Talent School, which was founded in 1996. In 1997, the school was renamed Zhaoqing Business Vocational School. Established in March 2004 with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and filed by the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded to Zhaoqing Vocational College of Industry and Commerce, and was renamed Guangdong Vocational College of Industry and Commerce in 2014. Approved to upgrade to an undergraduate college in 2018. In May 2019, the Ministry of Education officially approved the name of Guangdong University of Commerce and Technology, which is the first batch of vocational education pilot schools at the undergraduate level in China. The school currently has two campuses, Xinghu and Dawang, which are respectively located in Qixingyan National Key Scenic Area and Zhaoqing National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The school covers an area of 1,283 acres, with a total construction area of 443,200 square meters. The campus environment is elegant, the scenery is beautiful, the climate is pleasant, and the transportation is convenient.
