Guangxi Electrical Polytechnic Institute (广西电力职业技术学院, website) was founded in 1979. It was originally hosted by the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and headed by the Guangxi Electric Power Industry Bureau. It is now under the direct control of the Education Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The first batch of vocational college digital campus construction experimental schools and the first batch of characteristic colleges in Guangxi were the National Electric Power Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee and the Guangxi Power Grid Corporation to support the construction of high-level vocational colleges and professional schools with Chinese characteristics. The college is also a pilot institution of national modern apprenticeship system, the host of the national professional education resource library, the construction unit of the National University Mental Health Education Demonstration Center, the Guangxi Applied Undergraduate Talents and Educational Integration Training Pilot Institution, and Tsinghua University in Guangxi. The first higher vocational college of the mixed teaching reform was the only higher vocational college in China issued by the China Electricity Enterprise Federation in the power industry thermal power and transformer simulation training base.
Guangxi Electrical Polytechnic Institute currently has three campuses. The headquarters campus is located in the core area of Nanning High-tech Zone. The new campus under construction is located in Wuxiang New District, a national-level new district. There are 551 faculty members and 361 full-time teachers, and one academician is specially hired as senior consultant. The college has 10 teaching institutions including the Department of Electric Power Engineering, the Department of Energy Power and Power Generation Engineering, the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, the Department of Finance and Management, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Automation, the Department of Architectural Engineering, and the Department of Automotive and Transportation. 43 specialties, such as systems, have been established to connect with the “generation, transmission, transformation, distribution, and use” of the power industry chain and the power equipment manufacturing field. For the past 40 years, the school has adhered to the school motto of “Honesty, scientifc, ability and sensitivity”, adheres to the school-oriented policy of “service-oriented, employment-oriented”, and recruits students from 26 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) throughout the country. With more than 10,000 students, it is the country’s largest electric power vocational college with the largest scale, strong strength and good prospects.

The college insists on opening schools, strengthening foreign cooperation and exchanges, and continuously improving its social influence. The college is the only university in Guangxi that Rockwell Automation, a global well-known multinational company, “cooperates with Chinese universities” project. It has also established academic exchanges, education and teaching, scientific research and other cooperative relationships with universities, educational institutions in Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Singapore and other countries, as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions. Various substantive exchanges and cooperation projects such as co-construction are exchanged, and high-quality technical and technical personnel are trained. The Academy ’s Dragon and Lions team represented Guangxi to participate in the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Hong Kong ’s return to the country, and won the National College Student Dragon and Lion Dance Championship High Pole Championship.
