Guilin Normal College (桂林师范高等专科学校, website) was founded in 1938 as the Guilin Normal School of Guangxi Province. The school has a glorious revolutionary tradition, known as “the cradle of the North Guangxi Revolution”, and with its unique school running methods and achievements, it has become one of the four famous teachers who have outstanding achievements in running schools nationwide and have contributed greatly to the revolution. In 2000, approved by the Ministry of Education, Guilin Education College and Guilin Normal School merged to form Guilin Teachers College. In many years of school-running practice, the school has established a school-oriented direction focusing on cultivating high-quality primary and pre-school teachers, laid a solid foundation for school running, and formed distinctive characteristics of teacher education and art education.

Guilin Normal College currently has three campuses, Lingui, Xinyi, and Jiashan. The campus covers an area of 1085.1 acres, with a total building area of 514,000 square meters, including an area of 292,000 square meters for teaching and scientific research. The total value of the existing teaching and scientific research equipment is 15.52041 million yuan, with an average of 16888.4 yuan per student. There are 194 experimental (training) rooms and training bases in the school, and one affiliated middle school and one affiliated kindergarten. There are 115 stable and reliable practical training bases outside the school, of which 35 are fixed practice schools. There are 4053 computers for teaching, 13215 seats for multimedia classrooms and voice labs.
