Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (贵州中医药大学, website) was founded in 1965. Graduate education began in 1978 and was awarded the right to grant a master’s degree in 1981. It is one of the first batch of units with a master’s degree authorization approved by the Degree Committee of the State Council.

Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was approved as a key university in Guizhou Province in 2004. In 2007, it was rated as an “excellent” institution for undergraduate teaching level assessment. It successfully passed the undergraduate teaching review and evaluation of the Ministry of Education and the professional certification of Chinese medicine and pharmacy, and was awarded the “Civilized Campus” of Guizhou Province. In November 2018, the former “Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine” was renamed “Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine” by the Ministry of Education.

Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is located in Guiyang, a beautiful and pleasant forest city, with two campuses, Huaxi and Jiaxiu. The university currently has 23 undergraduate majors, covering 6 disciplines in medicine, science, engineering, management, law, and education.
