Introduction to Hainan Technology and Business College

Hainan Technology and Business College (海南工商职业学院, website) is a full-time general higher vocational college filed by the Ministry of Education. It is located in the original site of Yangyou College, one of the four famous cultural villages in Hainan, founded by Tang Ming, a sage of the Ming Dynasty in Hainan.

The college was formerly Hainan Wanhe Information Vocational Technology College, which was founded in 2004. In April 2010, the Ministry of Education approved the rename of Hainan Wanhe Vocational College of Information Technology to “Hainan Vocational College of Industry and Commerce”. In May 2012, Tang Jie’s descendant, Tang Jie, was wholly-owned by Hainan Vocational College of Commerce and Industry and acted as legal representative.

Over the years, the school has clearly and firmly established the development goals of the school, the school ’s quality awareness has been continuously improved, the school ’s teachers and students have increased their recognition of the school ’s quality concept, and all members have participated in the construction of the quality assurance system. High-quality technical and skilled personnel with customary and excellent academic performance.

Hainan Technology and Business College has formed a professional group that actively adapts to the needs of local economic and social development, has a reasonable structure, and has distinctive characteristics of higher vocational colleges. At present, there are 6 secondary colleges of the School of Economics and Management, the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Tourism Arts, the School of Information Engineering, the College of Oceanography and the School of Transportation Engineering, and the Teaching Departments of the Ideological and Political Courses and the Public Courses. The school has been approved by the Ministry of Education as the National Center for Collaborative Innovation in Marine Ecology and Biotechnology, the second batch of 1 + X certificate system pilot colleges, and the first batch of national educational informationization pilot units; the province has experimental and practical teaching Demonstration Center, Hainan Provincial University Humanities Quality Education Research Base (Provincial Humanities and Social Sciences Base), Tangying Yangyou Culture Research Center; opened up international cooperative education channels, and was approved in 2013 as a university that can accept foreign students. In 2019, the school has a total of 38 majors for national admissions, including 1 national backbone major, 2 provincial backbone majors, and 3 provincial specialty majors.

Hainan Technology and Business College currently has more than 8,000 students. It has a “3 + 2” sub-graduate training program that connects vocational, vocational, and general undergraduates, as well as a “promoter” and “continuing education” platform for continuing education. Set up “the 84th National Vocational Skills Appraisal Office of Hainan Province”.

The school has a combination of professional and combined high-quality teachers, including 73 senior professional title teachers, 183 “double-qualified” teachers, a large number of experts, scholars, doctors, professors, skilled artisans and other high-end talents are serving in the school to teach. The school promotes comprehensive quality education in an all-round way, and takes “all-round development, one skill, multiple skills, and outstanding high-quality technical and technical talents” as the training goal, and attaches importance to promoting teaching and learning through competition. In 2019, our students won a total of 43 awards in various events inside and outside the province.

Hainan Technology and Business College operates 7 college-run entities, establishes 63 on-campus training bases (rooms, points), 75 off-campus training bases, and 1 provincial college student incubation base. From 2010 to 2019, the initial employment rate of graduates announced by the Hainan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security has been above 90% for nine consecutive years, ranking the forefront of universities in the province.
