Hanshan Normal University (韩山师范学院, website) is a Guangdong undergraduate normal university with a long history and distinctive characteristics. It is located in Chaozhou, a national historical and cultural city enjoying the reputation of “China’s Porcelain Capital”. The campus covers an area of 976,000 square meters and a building area of 468,000 square meters.
Hanshan Normal University was founded in the nineteenth year of Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1903). The predecessor dates back to Hanshan College, which was built five years ago (1090) by Song Yuanyou. It is the first batch in China and the first in Guangdong. The school specialized in training teachers was renamed the Provincial Second Normal School in 1921, renamed the Provincial Hanshan Normal School in 1935, renamed the Hanshan Normal School in 1949, and upgraded to the Hanshan Normal College in 1958. Upgraded to Hanshan Teachers College. In 2008, he received an excellent grade in the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education.
