Harbin Medical University (哈尔滨医科大学, website) is established by Harbin Medical College and Xingshan China Medical University No. 1 and 2 campuses, which were established by our medical pioneer Dr. Wu Liande in 1926. After 92 years of development, the school inherits the spirit of Dr. Wu Liande’s “red sincerity, patriotism, self-improvement and entrepreneurship”, carries forward the glorious tradition of “political firmness and excellent technology” of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army Health School, adhering to the “wood straight in the ropes, learned medicine” School motto, comprehensive strength has been continuously enhanced, with considerable development scale and distinctive school characteristics. The school is a provincial co-constructed university, a high-level university in Heilongjiang Province and a university with advantageous specialty disciplines, a Chinese-led unit of the Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance, a national science basic science research and teaching talent training base, and the Ministry of Education’s first batch of seven-year advanced institutions Medical education institutions.
Harbin Medical University has 18 secondary departments and 8 institutions. There are 16,958 faculty members. There are two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one who won the Nightingale Award, three members of the Disciplinary Review Group of the State Council, eighteen members of the Higher Education Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, three members of the National Steering Committee for Graduate Education of Medical Professional Degrees, and national teaching. 4 famous teachers, 2 winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, 1 winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, 2 selected in the “Thousand Talents Plan”, 6 “10,000 Talents Plan”, 8 “Changjiang Scholars”, enjoying the State Council 94 government special allowances.
Harbin Medical University has 9 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degree, 62 second-level disciplines authorized; 11 first-degree masters, 64 second-level disciplines; and 5 post-doctoral research stations. The school has 18 undergraduate majors. There are 7,972 undergraduate students in general education (excluding the campus), 5,799 graduate students, and 641 international students.
The university has two national key disciplines, one national key cultivation discipline, 33 national key clinical specialty construction projects, 21 provincial key disciplines (groups), and 31 provincial leading talent echelons. In the fourth round of disciplinary evaluations, 1 discipline entered the category A (A-) and 8 disciplines entered the category B (2 B +, 3 B, 3 B-). There are 2 international cooperation joint laboratories, 1 national key laboratory cultivation base jointly established by the province and the ministry, 3 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 2 key health laboratories, 13 provincial key laboratories, and provincial universities 11 key laboratories. Established 2 academician workstations with local governments and enterprises. The Northern Medical Translational Research Cooperation Center was established.
The university has 4 national experimental teaching demonstration centers and 1 national virtual simulation experimental teaching center. Editor-in-chief of 63 “12th Five-Year Plan” textbooks of the Ministry of Education and Health Commission. Three Ministry of Education Pilot Programs for Education Reform of Excellent Doctors were approved. It has won 4 national video public courses, 12 national resource sharing courses, and 1 national excellent online open course. A total of 16 national teaching achievement awards and 139 provincial teaching achievement awards were won. Since the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, 689 educational research projects have been established, and 827 educational and teaching papers have been published, of which 5 are included in SCI.
Since the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Harbin Medical University has obtained 8,528 scientific research projects of various types, presided over 1 National Key Basic Research Development Plan (“973” Plan), 1 National High-Tech Development Plan (“863” Plan), National Science and Technology 1 major project, 2 national key R & D projects, and 1228 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It has won 876 various awards, including 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 5 first prizes of outstanding scientific research awards (scientific research), and 2 first prizes of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. 1 National Research Foundation Innovation Project Group Project, 2 Ministry of Education Science and Technology Innovation Teams. Published 19805 scientific research papers, of which 7161 were included in SCI. Compiled and published 628 books. Has 434 valid patents, 182 invention patents, 10 software and copyrights.
