Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology (江苏工程职业技术学院, website) is a provincial public full-time ordinary college. The school’s school history can be traced back to the first textile college in China founded in 1912 by the famous patriotic businessman and educator Mr. Zhang Ye. It has a century of school running history and has a profound cultural heritage. Construction and development have trained a large number of outstanding talents. The school was approved by the Ministry of Education in 1999 and was independently upgraded to “Nantong Textile Vocational and Technical College”. In 2006, it achieved excellent results in the evaluation of talent training in the country’s vocational colleges. The school construction unit was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as a “National Model Higher Vocational College Construction Plan” in 2008. It successfully passed the national inspection and acceptance in June 2011 and became a National Model Higher Vocational College. May 2014 With the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Jiangsu Engineering Vocational and Technical College. In 2018, it was identified as a high-level vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province.

The school is located in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, within the one-hour economic circle of Shanghai, with convenient transportation and outstanding geographical advantages. The school covers an area of 573,232 square meters and a building area of 283,632 square meters. The school’s teaching facilities are complete, the equipment is relatively advanced, the teaching methods are scientific, and modern educational technology is widely used, which has basically realized the informationization and electronicization of books. The school has 193 experimental and training rooms of various types, including 11 experimental (training) rooms invested by enterprises and named after them, and 14 productive training bases jointly built and shared with enterprises. The National Vocational Skills Appraisal Office, and jointly established the Haimen Coastal Productive Training Base with the Haimen Municipal People’s Government. The school established the Nantong Aviation Training Center in cooperation with Huaxia Aviation Engineering Co., Ltd. and successfully obtained the CCAR147 aircraft maintenance training qualification and CCAR66 aircraft maintenance examination site of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China. It is the only vocational college in Jiangsu Province that has obtained both qualifications. The school and the German KUKA Group have jointly established the KUKA Robot Jiangsu Application and Training Center, which is a designated training unit for skilled personnel in the East China region of KUKA Group.

Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology currently has more than 10,000 full-time students. It is a comprehensive university with engineering as its main body. Currently there are 7 secondary colleges and quality teaching departments, such as the College of Textiles and Clothing, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Business (School of Social Management Engineering), the School of Art and Design, the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Aviation and Transportation Engineering, and the School of Information Engineering. Set up 42 majors (directions), traditional majors to highlight brand characteristics, new majors to meet the needs of the society, 4 national key vocational colleges to build major majors, and central financial support for “higher vocational schools to enhance professional service industry development capacity projects” 2 majors, 2 construction projects of the first phase of Jiangsu Province ’s higher education brand professional construction plan, 10 higher education brand specialty programs in Jiangsu Province (including construction sites), 1 “Dual Certificate Pilot” program of the Jiangsu Human Resources and Social Security Department . The school now has 5 national excellent courses, 5 high-quality courses in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province, 3 high-quality courses in the Teaching Guidance Committee of the Higher Vocational College of the Ministry of Education; and 10 selected high-quality courses in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province.
