Introduction to Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction College
Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction College (江苏城乡建设职业学院, website) is an independent public full-time college-level general college. It was approved for construction in June 2013, and was officially established in February 2015 with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. The college is organized by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and is affiliated with the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It is also under the guidance and management of the Jiangsu Provincial Education Department.
Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction College was formerly known as Jiangsu Urban Construction School. It was established in 1986 and enrolled. It was officially established in 1988. In 2000 it was identified as the first batch of national key secondary vocational schools. A five-year higher vocational school was started in 1999, and was upgraded to a five-year higher vocational and technical school in 2003. It was renamed Changzhou Construction Higher Vocational and Technical School (Jiangsu United Vocational and Technical College Changzhou Construction Branch). Since 2011, it has implemented educational resource sharing with Changzhou Workers’ University, and in 2013 the two universities merged to establish a higher vocational college.
Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction College is located in Changzhou, the core city of the Suxichang section of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt. Facing the society, we will recruit three-year colleges (higher vocational schools) starting from high school and five-year colleges (higher vocational schools) starting from junior high school. The college integrates three-year higher vocational education, five-year higher vocational education, adult diploma education, in-service employee training, and vocational skills appraisal. It is mainly responsible for the training of high-quality technical and skilled personnel for the urban and rural construction industry.
For more than 30 years, the college has trained more than 27,000 highly qualified technical and technical personnel for the development of urban and rural construction, and the employment rate of students has been stable at more than 98%.
Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction College has two campuses, Yin Village and Qingtan. The Yincun Campus is located at No. 1 Heyu Road, Yincun Vocational Education Park, West of Changzhou City, and the Qingtan Campus is located at No. 12 Mucom Road, Changzhou City. It covers a total area of 813 acres and a total construction area of 275,100 square meters. With the overall goal of creating a “green campus”, the new campus is the first green building and building energy-saving demonstration zone in the province with the campus as a unit. The college currently has nearly 8,000 full-time students, with more than 390 full-time teachers, including 124 teachers with associate titles or higher, 216 teachers with master’s degrees or higher, 214 “double-teacher” teachers, accounting for 71.57% of full-time professional teachers. The school has nearly 200 professional training (examination) rooms of various types, nearly 8,000 internship positions, nearly 80 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment, and more than 130 off-campus training bases.
The college is the national and Jiangsu Province construction industry skills shortage talent training training base, is the first batch of housing and urban and rural construction industry vocational skills appraisal pilot units. The college has the “Jiangsu Construction Industry First National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute”, “Jiangsu Construction Vocational Skills Urban Construction Post Training Station” and “Changzhou Urban Construction College National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute”. The annual average industry-related training is nearly 90,000 person-days. Various skill appraisals exceeded 4,000.
Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction College has three school-run enterprises, namely Jiangsu Urban Construction School Architectural Planning and Design Institute, Jiangsu Urban Construction School Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd., and Changzhou Urban Construction Aike Green Technology Co., Ltd., which has Grade A architectural design, Grade A cost consulting, Urban and rural planning level B, bidding agency level A, engineering consulting level C and other qualifications, more than 100 employees, providing architectural design, planning and design, engineering consulting, cost management, ancient building (repair) design, fire design, green building Consulting services such as consulting and energy saving renovation. Among them, Jiangsu Urban Construction School Architectural Planning and Design Institute became a Jiangsu general engineering contracting pilot company in 2018. In recent years, the college provides nearly 300 technical consulting services to the society each year, with an annual output value of nearly 40 million yuan. It has formed its own characteristics in village planning, industrial building design, and green energy-saving consulting and testing.
The college is the deputy director unit of the Engineering Management Professional Steering Committee of the National Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the China Construction Education Association, the director of the China Construction Education Association’s Vocational Committee, and the director unit of the Jiangsu Construction Education Association.
