Introduction to Longnan Teachers College
Longnan Teachers College (陇南师范高等专科学校, website) was approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2003. Based on the merger of the former Chengxian Normal School and Lixian Normal School into Longnan Normal School, Longnan Teachers College was established as a full-time normal college. Yuancheng County Normal University was founded in 1937, and Yuanli County Normal University was established in 1973. In April 2001, the two middle schools merged to form Longnan Normal School. In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Longnan Teachers College was upgraded to Longnan Teachers College. In 2013, Longnan Agricultural School and Chengxian Vocational Secondary School were integrated into Longnan Teachers College as a whole. In 2014, the school became the only junior college in the country to undertake the reform project of the Ministry of Education’s Excellent Teacher Training Program. In 2015, the school added the Longnan E-commerce Vocational College brand.
Longnan Teachers College covers an area of 1036 acres. The total building area of the school building is 279,900 square meters, of which the area of teaching and administrative buildings is 140,400 square meters, and the total value of fixed assets is 446 million yuan. There are 14 secondary colleges, 15 functional departments, 2 teaching and auxiliary institutions, 1 affiliated experimental school, and 5 school-level scientific research institutions. There are 41 specialties, covering 7 disciplines including education, literature, and science. There are 112 experimental training rooms and 133 internship training bases. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 96.971 million yuan. The library has more than 650,000 books and 1,071 types of periodicals.
Longnan Teachers College currently has 582 faculty members, including 392 full-time teachers, 22 full-time teachers, 121 associate professors, and 151 postgraduate teachers. The vocational and vocational ratios are 36.6% and 38.4% respectively. There are 3 national outstanding teachers, 2 provincial teaching teachers, 1 Gansu provincial special teacher, 1 Gansu outstanding expert and leading talent, 1 selected for the 555 innovative talent project, and 5 Gansu “Gardener Award” outstanding teachers. Gansu Provincial University Young Teachers Talent Award 2 people, 3 foreign teachers, 35 guest professors, 6 specially invited professors. There are 6,133 full-time students.
Longnan Teachers College has 4 provincial specialties (primary education, preschool education, language education, art education), 4 provincial excellent courses, 1 provincial excellent resource sharing course, 15 college excellent courses, and key courses 36 courses, 2 provincial teaching teams, won 1 provincial teaching achievement award, 6 department teaching achievement awards, 19 school teaching achievement awards, and 64 school teaching reform projects. There are 20 school-level teaching teachers and 100 young and middle-aged backbone teachers. Successfully passed the two rounds of appraisal of talent training in higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education in 2008 and 2013.
In recent years, the school has undertaken a total of 193 scientific research projects at various levels (including: 3 national projects, 9 provincial (ministry) level projects, and 82 municipal (office) level projects); published papers in various academic journals 2360 articles (of which: 203 Chinese core journals, 83 CSSCI journals, 7 SCI journals, 4 EI journals); 37 academic works (including: 24 monographs, 4 co-authors, 10 editors), editor-in-chief Participated in editing 64 kinds of teaching materials (Ministry); authorized 1 invention patent, 3 design patents; won 374 scientific research awards including Gansu Provincial Social Science Achievement Award, Gansu Provincial University Science and Technology Progress Award (among them: ) 21 items, 353 items at city (office) level). Longnan Teachers College has trained 35,000 outstanding primary and secondary school teachers and other professionals in the course of nearly 80 years of schooling. It is known as the cradle of Longnan basic education and the cradle of grassroots cadres, and has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Gansu contribution.
