Maoming Polytechnic (茂名职业技术学院, website) is a joint university established by the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province and the Maoming Municipal People’s Government. It was established in 2004 with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government. It is the first full-time public higher technical college in Maoming. In 2012, the national key technical secondary school in Maoming built a secondary professional school. The school adheres to the school motto of “Morality, Strength, Practicality and Innovation”, establishes the four-in-one talent training goal of “values + knowledge + skills + innovation”, focuses on cultivating students’ professional ability, innovative spirit and entrepreneurial ability, vigorously promotes work-study integration, and school-enterprise cooperation With the mission of cultivating advanced technical and technical personnel in the frontline of production, service and management, it has sent more than 40,000 graduates to the society.
Maoming Polytechnic has three campuses: South Campus, North Campus and Renmin South Campus. The existing campus covers an area of 1003.79 acres and a building area of 230992.98 square meters, including 121842.2 square meters of teaching and administrative space, 108450.39 square meters of student dormitory area, and stadium (stadium) area 62,000 square meters, teaching and research equipment and equipment worth about 56 million yuan, the library collection of more than 610,000 paper books, 446 kinds of paper periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages, 37 newspapers, more than 345,300 electronic books, 8 databases. It has established 13 national professional qualification test sites for engineering survey, chemical inspection, numerical control lathe, electrician, electrical equipment installation, etc., and it is a pilot unit of national professional core competence demonstration training. In June 2016, approved by the China Construction Education Association, the only national BIM application skills test site in western Guangdong was established in the school.
The school currently has more than 14,300 full-time regular vocational students, 589 faculty and staff, more than 130 professors, associate professors and other senior title teachers, more than 340 doctoral and master degree teachers, and more than 320 dual-teacher teachers. Experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, and well-known enterprises serve as 50 visiting professors and more than 300 part-time teachers.
