Ningxia Industrial and Vocational College (宁夏工业职业学院, website) is located in the beautiful “Lake City” Yinchuan City. It was established in 1981 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is an ordinary higher vocational college with engineering-oriented and national admissions qualifications. The college is affiliated with Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group and is the staff training center of Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group.

The college has 6 teaching departments including the Department of Mining Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Training Workshop for Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, the Training Workshop for Comprehensive Mining and Comprehensive Excavation, and the Ministry of Adult Education. Established 17 majors including applied chemical technology, chemical equipment maintenance technology, coal mining technology, mine electrical and mechanical, mine ventilation and safety, deep coal processing and utilization, mine surveying, etc. Was rated as national-level boutique major and autonomous region-level backbone demonstration major. In 2011, the major of mining machinery and electrical technology and coal mining technology was listed as the “Promoting the Development Capability of Professional Services Industry” project supported by the central government.

Ningxia Industrial and Vocational College covers an area of 110,000 square meters and a building area of 49,000 square meters. The total value of teaching equipment is 39.02 million yuan, with 135,000 books in the library and 1.2T of electronic books. Built a “core 10 Gigabit, aggregate Gigabit, desktop 100 Gigabit” campus network system and a complete campus security monitoring system.

The college has 2 domestic first-class comprehensive mining and comprehensive mining, large-scale practical training workshops for mechanical and electrical equipment, and 15 professional laboratories with advanced equipment and complete facilities. Shenhua Ning Coal Group has 14 pairs of production mines, 3 coal washing plants, and mechanical equipment maintenance.
