North Sichuan Medical College (川北医学院, website) is a public higher medical school hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education. It currently has two campuses, Shunqing and Gaoping, covering an area of more than 1,000 acres . The school’s predecessor was the Northwest Sichuan Medical School, which was founded in 1951. It was upgraded to a junior college in 1965 and a bachelor’s degree in 1985. It was named the Sichuan Medical College. Began to recruit international students in 2005, obtained the right to confer a master’s degree in 2006, passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education in 2007 and became outstanding. In 2014, it became a post-doctoral innovation practice base in Sichuan Province.
