Qinghai Nationalities University (青海民族大学, website), founded on December 12, 1949, is the first modern university in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. In the early days of the establishment of the school, it experienced the stages of training courses for young cadres of Qinghai Province, Qinghai Provincial People’s Public School, and Qinghai National Minority Public School. In 1979, he recruited graduate students majoring in language, literature, and ethnic history. In 1981, he obtained the first batch of master’s degree authorizations from the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. It was the first university in Qinghai to offer degree and graduate education. In April 2009, the school was renamed Qinghai University for Nationalities. In 2011, the Qinghai Provincial People’s Government and the National Civil Affairs Commission signed an agreement to jointly build Qinghai Nationalities University. In 2014, the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council approved the joint training of PhD students by our university and Tianjin University. In 2018, the Degree Committee of the State Council approved our university as a doctoral authority.
