Shandong Jiaotong University (山东交通学院, website) was founded in 1956. In 2000, it was transferred to Shandong Province by the Ministry of Communications, and a management system built by the central and local governments was implemented. In 2011, it was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a pilot work unit to train graduate students with professional degrees. In 2013, it was approved to be a project construction unit of famous universities in Shandong Province for the cultivation of applied talents for higher education. Shandong Jiaotong University covers an area of more than 3,200 acres and is divided into four campuses: Changqing Campus, Wuyingshan Campus, Weihai Campus, and East Campus.
