Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (上海立信会计金融学院, website) is a public full-time ordinary college with distinctive accounting and financial characteristics. It was formed by the merger of the former Shanghai Lixin Accounting Institute and the former Shanghai Finance Institute in June 2016. The name of “Lixin” comes from “The Analects of Confucius” “The people cannot believe without trust”. The origin of the school can be traced back to the education of Lixin, founded by Mr. Pan Xulun, a well-known educator, accountant and “father of modern Chinese accounting” in 1928 . In 2011, the school obtained the qualification for master’s degree in auditing. In more than 90 years of school running history, the school has been hailed as one of the birthplaces of modern accounting education in China and the cradle of future financiers. In December 2018, the school was listed as a pilot university for high-level local application-oriented universities in Shanghai.

Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance currently has three campuses in Pudong, Songjiang and Xuhui, covering an area of over 1,200 mu. At present, there are nearly 20,000 full-time students, including more than 200 professional graduate students. The employment situation of students is good. The employment rate of graduate students reaches 100%, and the employment rate of undergraduates reaches more than 98%.

In cooperation with the Shanghai Municipal Government Development Research Center, a decision-making consulting and research base on “Service Economy and Shanghai International Financial Center Construction” was established.

Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance has established cooperative relationships with more than 150 universities and research institutions outside the country (foreign), and has co-founded the Confucius Institute with the Danish International Business Academy. In 2019, the Chinese-foreign cooperative education undergraduate program for financial engineering (finance technology) jointly applied with the New Jersey Institute of Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education.
