Founded in 2003, Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE) is a full-time international high school authorized by the Cambridge Institute of Examination (CIE), the Council of International Schools (CIS), Edexcel, and the College Board of America (AP). The College Board’s AP program is also authorized.
SCIE offers 48 international high school courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, English, Chinese, business, history, geography, psychology, art and design, music, social studies, accounting, and computers.
SCIE has foreign experts as academic management, including the principal, and there are 107 foreign teachers, accounting for 75% of the total faculty.
SCIE is a Consortium of International Schools (CIS) accredited school and a member school of the East Asia Council of International Schools (EARCOS) and the Federation of English Based Schools in Asia (FOBISIA). The school has four high school grades.
Faculty
SHS selects its teachers globally. The teaching staff is broadly divided into three parts: foreign teachers, returnees and local teachers. There are 146 full-time academic teachers at SZCTC, including 107 foreign teachers, most of whom come from the UK, the US, Australia, Canada, etc. and serve as Academic Affairs Directors, Directors of Overseas Study Guidance Centers and Subject Group Leaders (HODs) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, History, Geography, Information Technology, English, Music, etc.; more than 10 returned teachers, who have master’s degrees from overseas universities The Chinese teaching team, after years of experience, has also mastered the international school syllabus and become the backbone of teaching in all grades at SCCC. Since 2003, SCT has arranged for teachers to attend the training held by the Cambridge University Examinations at home and abroad every year.
The teachers of SZGJ are personally preparing students for the world’s leading universities. In order to achieve this mission without rushing to the next level, SZGJC implements the standards of the Consortium of International Schools (CIS) from the governance of the college to the day-to-day teaching, and exceeds all current standards of its Chinese counterparts.
Campus Facilities
Boarding Campus:
In August 2020, SZGCCC moved from the old campus in Shui Wai to the new campus as a whole. The new campus is located at No. 3, Antoshan 6 Road, Futian District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. The campus covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters, and the surrounding transportation, cultural and commercial infrastructure is first-class. The campus is under closed management.
Teaching space: there are about 80 classrooms for humanities, mathematics, science and chemistry, language, business, computer and other subjects; 30 laboratories for chemistry, biology and physics, with large preparation rooms or small preparation rooms for each laboratory; a special greenhouse for biology; subject offices and subject leader’s offices of more than 120 square meters for each subject; a student counseling room and a special resource room; the teaching building contains large meeting rooms, teachers’ The building includes a large conference room, a special lounge for teachers and a gymnasium; an open garden public space and a 100-meter running track on the roof.
Student dormitories: nearly 500 student dormitories, each with 2 or 4 beds, each with its own desk and closet; each dormitory is equipped with restrooms, hot showers, air conditioners, washing machines and independent balconies; each floor of the dormitory contains 2 rooms for life teachers, who are dedicated to serve students’ living, housekeeping and discipline; the dormitory building is equipped with two rooms each for school doctors and isolation rooms. Each floor of the dormitory has a public space for students’ activities, seminars, hospitality and leisure; the building has an open public garden.
Teacher’s apartment: to meet the “home-like” accommodation needs of more than 100 foreign teachers; open garden public space inside the building; three large public gardens on the roof; teacher’s activity center.
Sports facilities: 11-meter-high sunken gymnasium with two standard basketball courts, volleyball, badminton and tennis; standard volleyball court, 5-a-side soccer field, student gym and table tennis area on the platform level; outdoor basketball court, special basketball court, climbing wall and outdoor sports area on the ground level; teachers’ gymnasium (with showers and locker rooms) in the teaching building; a An overhead running track with a perimeter of more than 400 meters surrounds and connects the teaching and dormitory buildings on campus.
Catering services: 1500 square meters of cafeteria and dining hall, which can meet the needs of 700 people at the same time; the cafeteria has various stalls for Chinese food, Western food, noodles, barbecue, etc., and can provide special meals according to the theme; there is also a large coffee house on campus, which provides cold and hot drinks and light meals; the campus is equipped with direct drinking water fountains and vending machines. In terms of management, the school has set up safety, health and food management committees and a comprehensive service office.
Humanistic facilities: professional theater, which can meet the seating requirement of 700 people; over 300 square meters of lecture rooms; art classrooms, music classrooms, dance rooms, drama classrooms, piano rooms; art galleries.
The campus is under closed management. In terms of management structure, the school has established a safety and health committee, a food management committee and a comprehensive service office. The school employs a professional company to provide property services and security guards are on duty patrolling 24 hours a day.
Library: A collection of books and magazines on various professional subjects and their expansion; printing and photocopying of documents are available, as well as public computers for students to look up information.
