Shenzhen MSU-BIT University is a Sino-foreign cooperative university with independent legal personality, approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and established by the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Beijing Polytechnic University and Lomonosov Moscow State University. The university is an alliance of innovation and entrepreneurship education in Shenzhen universities, an alliance of Chinese and foreign cooperative universities, and an alliance of Russian and Chinese cooperative universities.

The university was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in October 2016; the first batch of undergraduate and graduate students were admitted in September 2017; the university moved to the new campus on July 23, 2019 and was approved as a postdoctoral innovation practice base in 2020.

According to the official website of the university in June 2022, the university covers a total area of 333,700 square meters, with a total asset value of 35,778,300 yuan for teaching and research instruments and equipment; offers 9 undergraduate majors, sets 11 master’s majors (directions) and 2 doctoral professional authorization points; has 403 teaching staff and 1,340 students.
