Taizhou Vocational and Technical College (台州职业技术学院, website) is a government-run full-time ordinary college located in one of the birthplaces of China’s private economy, an important manufacturing base in the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, and a modern port city on the southeast coast-Taizhou, Zhejiang. The school was planned to be established in 1999; in May 2001, the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government approved the establishment of Taizhou Vocational and Technical College; in 2003 and 2006, Zhejiang Taizhou Industrial School and Zhejiang Trade and Economic School were successively incorporated into the system. In 2007, the school successfully passed the excellent evaluation of the talents training level of higher vocational colleges in the Ministry of Education; in 2012, the school became a “model higher vocational college in Zhejiang Province”. Zhou Yuanqing, president of the Chinese Higher Education Society and former vice minister of the Ministry of Education, served as the school’s consultant, and Hong Qichao, the first president of Zhejiang University of Technology, served as honorary president.
