Wenzheng College of Soochow University (苏州大学文正学院, website) was born under the background of the great reform and development of China’s higher education. The college was established in December 1998 with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial Education Commission. It was a publicly-owned private second-level college, and was approved to become an independent college in 2005. In August 2012, with the approval of the provincial government, the college took the lead in registering a private non-enterprise as a legal entity in an independent college in the province.
