Wenzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology (温州科技职业学院, website) was officially established in February 2008 with the approval of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province. At the same time, it is a brand of the Wenzhou Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Its predecessors were the Wenzhou Agricultural Technology School of Zhejiang Province, which was founded in 1950, and the Agricultural Science Research Institute of Wenzhou Prefecture, which was established in 1958.
The school covers an area of more than 1700 acres (including 1030 acres of Wenzhou Seeds and Seedlings Science and Technology Park), with a building area of 233,000 square meters. It has teaching and scientific research equipment valued at 110 million yuan, a collection of 640,000 paper books and 880,000 electronic books. There are more than 580 faculty members, 32 academicians and experts such as Yuan Longping, Jin Ningyi, and Jiang Youxu, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
