Introduction to Wuhan Technical College of Communications
Wuhan Technical College of Communications (武汉交通职业学院, website) was founded in 1953 and was approved by the Hubei Provincial People’s Government in 2003. It was formed by the merger of the former national key technical secondary school Wuhan Water Transport Industry School and the Wuhan Transportation Management Cadre College directly under the Ministry of Communications. It is an independent provincial government. Public higher vocational colleges are affiliated to the Hubei Provincial Department of Education.
The college covers an area of 1,000 acres, with a building area of more than 300,000 square meters, a total value of 920 million yuan in fixed assets, and a total value of 106.26 million yuan in teaching equipment. Facing the needs of the transportation industry and social development, the school has set up 11 colleges (departments) including the School of Shipping and Shipping and the School of Logistics. The school currently has 1 national demonstration major, 16 provincial key/brand/feature majors, and 2 provincial modern apprenticeship pilot majors. It has built 5 national professional teaching resource database courses and 10 provincial and ministerial quality courses. It has built 4 national-level training bases, 5 provincial-level training bases and the only ASEP demonstration teaching center of SAIC General Project of the Ministry of Education in the country, developed 10 national planning textbooks, and led the development of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Commerce, and Hubei Province. Higher vocational colleges connected with the teaching standards of logistics management, carried out joint training of special and undergraduate links, and won 10 national, provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards.
Wuhan Technical College of Communications currently has 749 faculty members. Among them, 72.5% of full-time teachers have a master’s degree or above. The college has established stable cooperative relations with nearly 300 well-known companies such as Shanghai General Motors Co., Ltd., ZTE Corporation, Hankou Railway Station, etc., and has established 9 mixed-ownership secondary colleges, 35 school-enterprise cooperation studios, and 68 order classes; school-government cooperation with the governments of Yuhuan City and Ruian City, Zhejiang Province, and direct recruitment of non-commissioned officers with a certain ministry of the central government. The number of students in the non-commissioned class is more than 400; with Germany, Britain, Australia, Singapore and Thailand More than 10 countries and regions such as Malaysia and Malaysia have carried out cooperation in running schools. The school has enrolled two batches of Thai students and organized the China-Malaysia “2+2” international class.
