Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering (武汉软件工程职业学院, website) is a full-time comprehensive higher vocational college sponsored by the Wuhan Municipal People’s Government for enrolling students nationwide. The college is a “National High-Quality Vocational College”, “National Demonstration (Backbone) Vocational College”, “National Demonstration Software Vocational and Technical College”, an advanced unit of vocational education in Hubei Province; it is an “Ecological Garden School” in Hubei Province.

The earliest history of the college can be traced back to 1951, and it has developed higher vocational education for more than 20 years. The school is located in “Wuhan?China Optics Valley”. In 2016 and 2017, the school was awarded the “Top 50 Service Contributions of Higher Vocational Colleges in China” for two consecutive years. In 2018, it was awarded the “Top 50 Teaching Resources of Higher Vocational Colleges in China”, and it is at the forefront of higher vocational education in Hubei.

The college currently covers an area of ??more than 1,000 acres, a building area of ??more than 400,000 square meters, and a total fixed asset value of 1.4 billion yuan. The school has more than 300 internal and external training bases, including 4 national and provincial training bases, with a total value of 166 million yuan in teaching and research equipment.

Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering has 11 colleges and 49 majors, including 4 key construction majors in national demonstration (backbone) higher vocational colleges, 2 majors supporting industrial service capabilities supported by the central government, and 4 provincial key majors , 8 provincial-level brands and specialty specialties, 13 specialties for Chutian Skilled Teachers in Hubei Province, and two undergraduate pilot classes for software technology and automobile inspection and maintenance. There are 1042 faculty members, including 603 full-time teachers, 279 teachers with senior professional titles, 41 professors, 422 teachers with master’s degree or doctoral degree or above, and 16,000 full-time students. He has won 6 teaching achievement awards from colleges and universities in Hubei Province, and successfully built a basic professional literacy cultivation system. The comprehensive quality of students has been generally improved. He has won nearly 1,000 awards in various competitions at all levels.

The college took the lead in the establishment of six vocational education groups including Hubei Information Technology, Wuhan Electronic Information, Wuhan Intelligent Manufacturing, Wuhan Finance and Trade, Wuhan Life and Health Technology, and Wuhan Intelligent Manufacturing of Clothing. More than a dozen industry associations have participated in running the school. Nearly 300 companies including Huazhong CNC, Qingdao Haier and Foxconn have signed cooperation agreements to realize school-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education, and cultivate high-quality technical and technical talents who are “honorable, capable, practical and dedicated”.
