Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology Huaqing College (西安建筑科技大学华清学院, website) is a full-time undergraduate college founded by the Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology in 2004 with a new mechanism and model, approved by the Ministry of Education.
The college is located in the historical and cultural city of Xi’an, at the eastern end of the South Second Ring Road, the southern section of the happy forest belt of the Xi’an Hi-Tech East Development Zone, overlooking the famous Tang Dynasty Wild Goose Pagoda in the south, and the world-famous Chang’an City Wall in the north.浐 灞 Eco Park, convenient transportation. Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology Huaqing College is a teaching-oriented undergraduate college featuring architecture, civil engineering, management, and art disciplines, with engineering disciplines as its main body, and multi-disciplinary coordinated development. The college has 6 secondary colleges, including the School of Architecture, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Economics and Trade, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Management Engineering, and the School of Art, with 39 undergraduate majors and 9 functional departments. At present, there are nearly 10,000 full-time students, more than 600 full-time teachers, and teachers with intermediate and senior titles account for nearly 80% of the total number of teachers. The college actively promotes professional construction and conducts scientific research for the needs of society. It has successively cooperated with St. Martin University, Northern Arizona University, Idaho University, Northumbria University, Chaoyang University of Technology, Taiwan Shixin University, and Nankai University of Technology in Taiwan. Many universities and colleges have established cooperation platforms, carried out in-depth joint training, academic exchanges, short-term training, cultural exchanges during the winter and summer vacations, and borrowed advanced school experience to broaden the international perspective of teachers and students.
In 2012, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology Huaqing College became the first unit of its kind to obtain a degree granting authority. In accordance with the “People’s Republic of China Degree Regulations” and the relevant documents of the Shaanxi Provincial Degree Committee, students have completed all the courses specified in the teaching plan, and after passing the assessment, a graduation certificate from Huaqing College of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology is awarded. In 2005, when Xu Kuangdi, then Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Dean of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited the college, he spoke highly of the college’s campus planning and school running characteristics, and praised the college’s use of industrial architectural heritage to transform the school building as a pioneering work and model in the history of Chinese architecture. In 2009, the Youth League Committee of the College was established by the Youth League Central Committee and the Youth League Provincial Committee as the only pilot units of the Communist Youth League grassroots organization construction in similar institutions in Shaanxi Province. Since 2013, the School has been ranked first in the Northwest China by the China Academy of Management Science for the “Top 100 Comprehensive Strengths of China’s Independent Colleges” for seven consecutive years; in 2015 and 2016, the College was the most influential and credible in China. Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology Huaqing College recruits students from 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
