Xingtai University (邢台学院, website) is a full-time undergraduate college. The school’s predecessor, Zhili Fourth Junior Normal School, was founded in 1910 (the second year of the Qing Dynasty) and has a history of 109 years. In the early days of the establishment, the old site still remains on the campus. The old site has witnessed a century of development of teacher education in China. In March 1996, Xingtai Teachers College, Xingtai Education College, and Xingtai Economic Management Cadre School merged to form Xingtai Teachers College. In March 2002, it was upgraded to Xingtai College with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
Xingtai University is located at No. 88, Quanbei East Street, Qiaodong District, Xingtai City. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is about 136 million yuan, with more than 1.29 million volumes of paper books and about 220,000 electronic books. There are more than 1,200 faculty members and more than 18,000 full-time students. The school has 20 secondary colleges (departments), 52 undergraduate majors, covering nine disciplines: literature, history, science, engineering, economics, management, law, education and art. There are two major education systems with teacher education and applied talent training as the main body, including 15 undergraduate majors in normal education and 37 undergraduate majors in applied education. It has a national specialty construction site, three provincial key development disciplines, a provincial talent training base, two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, and two provincial social science research bases.
Xingtai University has delivered a large number of excellent teachers and application-oriented talents that can be used and retained for the locality. The school’s graduates have spread across various industries in Xingtai City.
