Yango University (阳光学院, website) is located in Fuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China. The campus is located in the Fuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. In 2001, it was co-organized by Fuzhou University, the key construction university of the “211 Project”, and Sunshine Holdings Co., Ltd. It was the first batch of independent colleges in Fujian. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2015, it became the first batch of ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities in Fujian province. In 2016, it was approved as a pilot university for applied transformation by the provincial education department. In 2017, it was listed as a master’s degree incubator by the provincial education department. In 2018, it passed the qualification assessment of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. In 2019, it entered the top 10 of private undergraduate universities founded by dual first-class universities nationwide.
Yango University has developed into a multidisciplinary university with economics, management, and engineering as the main body, covering eight university disciplines, 35 undergraduate majors, and more than 10,000 students. School of Business, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Civil Engineering, School of Humanities and Communication, School of Foreign Languages ??and Overseas Education, School of Preschool Education, School of Design, Law Department, Art Department. In the “2019 China’s Private University Rankings Created by Double First-Class Universities” released by the Arisen China Alumni Association, Sunshine College ranked seventh in the country and entered the ranks of China’s first-class private universities.
There are currently 678 full-time teachers in the university, of which “double-teacher and dual-energy” teachers account for 50.4%; 90.68% of the full-time teachers have master’s degrees and above, 18.16% have doctorates, and 36% are professors. The university and Sunshine Preschool Group jointly build a preschool education college, and jointly run a property management major with Sunshine Property. A total of more than 100 units have established school-enterprise cooperative relations, and 7 industrial colleges have been established. Five application-oriented professional groups in the service industry have been established, 2 professional groups have been selected as provincial demonstrative professional groups, 2 disciplines have been selected as provincial application-oriented discipline construction lists, and 2 disciplines have been selected as application-oriented discipline cultivation lists. It has 1 provincial-level creative space, 5 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 2 provincial-level virtual simulation teaching demonstration centers.
The University actively meets the needs of regional economic and social development and strengthens the construction of scientific research and innovation systems. Since 2010, the school has undertaken a total of 268 national social science fund projects, national natural science fund projects, and humanities and social science planning projects of the Ministry of Education. 79 projects, published more than 1,120 papers in SCI, SSCI, EI and other academic journals. It has 1 academician workstation, 2 engineering research centers of universities in Fujian province, and 1 humanities and social science research base. In 2019, the school’s National Social Science Fund’s annual project approvals ranked 290th in universities in the country, and it ranked second among 417 private undergraduate universities nationwide. Yango University covers an area of 1,200 acres, and has 134 laboratories of various types with advanced facilities and relatively complete equipment. The business comprehensive laboratory, civil engineering BIM comprehensive training room and other laboratories have reached the first-class level in the province. The multi-purpose library has a construction area of 22,000 square meters and a collection of nearly one million books. The “Chuang Sifang Garden” invested more than 30 million yuan was listed as the entrepreneurial incubation base for college graduates in Fujian Province.
The initial employment rate of Yango University graduates is over 95%. The school has established stable talent supply and demand relations with 186 units, and signed priority employment agreements with 133 units. Each year, 400 students are selected in the junior year to form a “Sunshine Express Train” special class. After graduation, they directly go to Sunshine Holdings and its industries. Universities continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with universities at home and abroad. Cooperated with a number of foreign universities such as Coventry University in the United Kingdom, Alante International University in the United States, Bad Honnef International University of Applied Technology in Germany, Swiss Business Hotel Management School and other foreign universities to carry out the “3 + 1” “2 + 2” double bachelor degree and Undergraduate and continuous study abroad programs, and course cooperation programs with Hiroshima University in Japan.
