Introduction to Yangtze Normal University

Yangtze Normal University (长江师范学院, website) is a full-time undergraduate colleges and universities sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. The school was founded in 1931, formerly Fuling County Rural Normal School. In 2001, Fuling Teachers College and Fuling Education College merged to form Fuling Teachers College, which was renamed Changjiang Teachers College in 2006.

University is located in Fuling District of Chongqing Municipality, located in the Yangtze River and Wujiang River Interchange, it is the famous “mustard town” and national shale gas demonstration area. The campus covers an area of nearly 1739 acres, the building area of the school building is 780,000 square meters, the library holds 5,268,100 volumes of various carrier literature (species), and the total value of teaching equipment is 260 million yuan. The school recruits students from 27 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) nationwide, and currently has more than 20,000 full-time undergraduate students. In addition, there are more than 140 exchange and academic students from 24 countries and regions such as Poland, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, etc., including 101 academic students.

Yangtze Normal University currently has 1,248 full-time teachers, of which 152 are senior professional titles, 339 are sub-high professional titles, and 386 are doctoral teachers. Yangtze Normal University undergraduate education vigorously implement the “four-class” building plans, educational reform achieved remarkable results. There are 22 secondary teaching colleges (departments), including 2 new municipal secondary colleges, and 5 new engineering colleges. There are 58 full-time undergraduate majors, including 1 national-level specialty, 10 municipal-level specialty, and 2 municipal-level specialty disciplines. There are “Ministry of Education-ICT Industry-education Integration Base” co-constructed with ZTE, “Ministry of Education-Shuguang Big Data Application Innovation Base” co-constructed with Zhongke Shuguang, and “National University Practice Educating and Innovating People” with Taiji Group. “Entrepreneurship base”, there are 9 municipal experimental teaching demonstration centers, 5 municipal talent training model innovation experimental areas. Yangtze Normal University has further promoted the “peak plan” for discipline construction and the “climbing plan” for scientific research. There are 4 municipal-level key disciplines and 2 municipal-level key cultivation disciplines.
