Yuncheng University

Yuncheng University (运城学院, website) is located in Yuncheng, an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. It was formerly known as Yuncheng Teachers College, which was founded in 1978. In December 1989, with the approval of the State Education Commission, the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government decided to merge Yuncheng Teachers College, Yuncheng Education College, and Hedong University to form Yuncheng College. In February 2002, Yuncheng College was formally approved by the Ministry of Education. The spring breeze turns rain, and the moisturizing is silent. Since the school was founded, it has always upheld the motto of “Legacy and Prosperity”, vigorously promoted the spirit of continuous self-improvement, hard work, excellence, and the pursuit of excellence, and has made important contributions to local economic and social development.

The school covers an area of 3,089 acres, a building area of 603,400 square meters, a total fixed asset value of 1.51 billion yuan, a total value of 182 million yuan of teaching equipment, a library of 1.77 million paper books, and 620,000 electronic books. There are currently more than 20,900 full-time undergraduate students.

Yuncheng University currently has 1,550 faculty members, including 1273 full-time teachers, 1,111 teachers with master’s degrees and above; 322 teachers with senior professional titles, and 85 tutors for doctoral and graduate students. There are 1 national outstanding teacher, 1 expert who enjoys special allowances from the State Council, 4 top talents from the “Three Jin Talents”, 9 young outstanding talents from the “Three Jin Talents”, 8 famous teaching teachers in Shanxi Province, and academic and technological leaders in Shanxi Province. There are 3 people, 4 outstanding young academic leaders in Shanxi colleges and universities, 9 outstanding young and middle-aged outstanding innovative talents of “131” leading talents in Shanxi higher education institutions, 6 outstanding teachers in Shanxi Province, and 4 model teachers in Shanxi Province. We have hired 10 specially-appointed professors of “131” leading talents in Shanxi universities, including 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 8 well-known scholars with leading domestic standards, 8 academic leaders, and 1 outstanding young and innovative talent; external disciplines 22 leaders. The business management teaching and research innovation team was selected as the “1331 Project” key innovation team construction plan. The Physics and Electronic Technology Experimental Practice Teaching and Research Office was awarded the title of “Excellent Teaching Team of General Colleges and Universities in Shanxi Province”.

Yuncheng University students won more than 280 national awards in national college student mathematical modeling competitions, computer design competitions, advertising art design competitions, mechanical innovation design competitions, and robotics competitions. Teachers undertake 521 vertical provincial-level and above scientific research projects, including 25 National Natural Science Funds, 7 National Social Science Funds, and 10 Humanities and Social Sciences Projects of the Ministry of Education.

Yuncheng University has signed cooperation agreements with 24 universities in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, and South Korea, conducted exchange student projects with 6 universities in Poland, South Korea, Malaysia, and Russia, established a Chinese internship base in Thailand, Level University Joint Training Master. Co-established “Electronic Circuit Technology College” with China Electronic Circuit Industry Association, held “Special Medical Food Class” in cooperation with Shanxiabao Pharmaceutical, and actively carried out industry-university-research cooperation with 152 industry companies including Yuncheng Platemaking Group.
