Yunnan Vocational and Technical College of Agriculture was formerly known as Yunnan Sericulture School, which was founded in 1904. After the founding of New China, it was renamed the Kunming Agricultural Technology School. In 1958, the Yunnan Province Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School was established. In 1962, the Kunming Agricultural Technology School was renamed the Yunnan Agricultural School.
