Yunnan Vocational College of Judicial Police (云南司法警官职业学院) is a full-time vocational college of politics and law. It was founded in March 1980. In January 1998, the college was awarded the first batch of key secondary technical secondary schools in the country by the Ministry of Justice with excellent results. In February of the same year, it was named the first batch of civilized schools in the province by the Yunnan Provincial Education Commission. In January 2000, the Ministry of Justice honored the collective first class. On January 21, 2003, approved by the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and filed by the Ministry of Education, it was independently upgraded to form the Yunnan Vocational College of Judicial Police Officers. The administrative system, in particular the prison reeducation through labor unit, trains application-oriented professionals who are “political, general law, professional, high-skilled, dedicated to the judiciary, and serving the society”, and provides talent guarantee and intellectual support for advancing the rule of law and economic and social development in Yunnan. In the past 30 years since its establishment, the college has accumulated a total of 14,382 graduates of various types for the prison labor camps of Yunnan Province and the administrative department of the Public Security Supervision Institute; it has trained 23,340 police officers on the job (times). In 2009, the college conducted a follow-up survey of 3,675 graduates in the judicial administration system.
