Actiong Associate Director of High School for the A Level Program

Reports to: Director of High School

Candidate Requirement:
1. Minimum of 5 years of IGCSE/A Level teaching experience with a focus on one subject.
2. Holds a Master’s Degree or above in the taught subject.
3. Holds a valid teacher certificate.
4. Demonstrates expertise in CAIE and Edexcel standards, curriculum, syllabi, resources, assessment, and exam administration, with a record of successful student learning outcomes.
5. Proven track record of improving students learning outcomes in the IGCSE and A Level courses, supported by evidence.
6. Strong ability to communicate in both Chinese and English to students, parents, colleagues, and other internal and external personnel (such as CAIE regional officers and university representatives).

Job Responsibilities:
1.Assist the Director of High School, and collaborative with the Dean of Students and Director of College Counseling in managing teaching and learning, administrative, pastoral and moral education, college counseling, and personnel management to ensure smooth daily operations and satisfactory student outcome of the A Level program.
2.Collaborate with the Director to prioritize child protection, safety education, and security measures, ensuring the implementation of safety precautions, establishing and improving accident reporting systems.
3.Demonstrate expertise in CAIE and Edexcel standards, curriculum, syllabi, resources, assessment, and exam administration, and deliver successful student learning outcomes.
4.Strong ability to communicate in both Chinese and English to students, parents, colleagues, and other internal and external personnel (such as CAIE regional officers and university representatives).
5.Lead and support A Level Heads of Departments, ensuring that A Level curriculum, teaching and learning adhere to the school’s core philosophy, curriculum requirements, and to ensure teaching quality and outcome.
6.Lead the CAIE Exam Officer and Edexcel Exam Officer, and collaborate with the Academic Office in the management of CAIE and Edexcel center affairs and exams. Perform data analyses and report the results regularly.
7.Organize regular A Level and IGCSE teacher meetings, track teaching quality, research resolve issues encountered in the teaching and learning processes, and assist teachers to continuously improve educational quality.
8.Guide and encourage A Level and IGCSE teachers to learn advanced educational and instructional theories, introduce domestic and international teaching and research reform experiences, assist in guiding teacher professional growth, and elevate overall teaching standards.
9.Organize regular and temporary parent-teacher meetings, enhance home-school communication, and improve parent satisfaction and participation.
10.As a vital member of the school leadership team, participate in school leadership meetings, contribute constructive opinions for departmental development, meet with external parties (such as university representatives, etc.) and regularly report work progress to the Director on behalf of the department.
11.Collaborate with administrative departments based on school needs, participating in teacher recruitment, school admissions, marketing events and so on, to represent the division.
12.Oversee and participate in administrative tasks within the division, including administrative approvals, communication management, financial budget management, regularly organize and archive important internal documents etc., to ensure orderly administrative operations.
13.Complete other tasks that the school may reasonably ask.
