Job Description

The Women Empowerment Council is seeking candidates who are passionate about women empowerment and thrives in a start-up work environment.  The Associate role is an entry level position and will support the WEC managers (project and operations) and partners. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, bilingual and service-oriented, with strong organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

Support WEC project managers and partners

  • Work with team to ensure quality experience for participants at WEC cornerstone events:
    • Women Empowerment Forum /Women Entrepreneur Marketplace
    • WE Awards
  • Assist with coordination and logistics for WEC programs/projects:
    • Girls in STEMM
    • Group Coaching, Leadership Development Program
    • Member-hosted and Strategic Partner events (3-4 / year)
    • Quarterly Executive meetings (4 / year)
    • Women and Executive Leader Roundtables (4 / year)
  • Contribute to WEC marketing, social media, and media strategy and execution as required, support with all the Chinese related media
  • Liaise and work with WEC team strengthen member relations
  • Support research and consulting projects as needed
  • Support with the recruitting Chinese domestic, SME and MNC members
  • Translate materials and documents as needed (English to Chinese and Chinese to English)
  • Manage all data for members – mapping and reporting
  • Support with membership and sponsorship recruitment and follow-up

Report to WEC operations managers

  • Oversee office operations, legal entity set up & operations in Shanghai (support in Beijing)
  • Support external facing IT platforms (Glueup, social channels, marketing) & internal IT platforms to ensure quality and consistency
  • Maintain member and office (Beijing / Shanghai) databases and update as needed
  • Assist partners (Beijing / Shanghai) with administrative tasks and other support as needed
  • Assist partners (Beijing/Shanghai) with travel and logistic arrangements as needed
  • Assist partners (Beijing/Shanghai) with calendar, transportation and reservation support as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of work experiences
  • Detailed oriented, strong self-learning capability
  • Excellent Chinese written and verbal skills, and strong English (written and verbally)
  • Able to manage multi-tasks and thoughtful in problem solving

Preferred

  • Some experience working with corporate clients
  • Entrepreneurial and growth mindset
  • Bilingual
  • Self-motivated and energetic
