Digital Media Editor, CGTN

Full Time, 12 month renewable contract

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a Digital Media Editor for CGTN’s Biz Department. This role involves producing TV programs and digital media content that covers economic news, business trends, market-moving policies, and in-depth analysis for a global audience. As a Digital Media Editor, you will play a crucial role in the entire editorial process, from generating ideas and writing scripts to shooting and post-production.

YOU WILL NEED TO:

  • Edit videos for CGTN.com, CGTN Biz, and various social media platforms.
  • Publish videos on a daily basis to provide creative and engaging content for a global audience.
  • Generate additional video content tailored for social and digital platforms.
  • Shoot and produce videos with visual effects using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and FCP software.
  • Stay up to date with global business trends and innovations.
  • Conduct research, write, and edit factual and engaging packages.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of editorial judgment and headline writing skills.
  • Contribute to the online service with your digital skills.
  • Pay attention to detail, be resourceful, and dependable.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Experience in video editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite and FCP software.
  • Strong understanding of video production processes, including shooting, editing, and post-production.
  • Extensive knowledge of and active use of social media platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Previous media experience, preferably at a news network.
  • At least two years of post-graduate work experience as an editor (required for Visa purposes).
  • Proficient English writing and communication skills.
