Position Title:       Director of Marketing

Supervisor:           Assistant Head of School – Personnel & Advancement
 
Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing works directly with the Assistant Head of School – Personnel & Advancement to develop and support the marketing plan for the school and serves as the supervisor of the Marketing department.
 
Requirements:
     Education

▪     Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of marketing or related work

Master’s Degree in Marketing or Business
     Experience
       [Required]
▪     Previous experience working in a leadership role
▪     Previous experience working in a small, multi-cultural team
▪     Marketing and or strategic planning professional
▪     Previous experience working with Chinese social media and running external marketing campaigns
       [Desired]                
▪     Background in  project management, targeted writing and/or editing, web design, graphic design highly desired
     Skills
       [Required]
▪     Strategic high-level thinker with an eye for and ability to execute the details
▪     Strong and diplomatic communicator, both written and spoken
▪     Flexible and quick to adjust to new dynamics of individuals or environment
▪     Detail oriented
▪     Comfortable speaking to and moving forward projects with disparate groups/cultures
▪     High comfort level working with computers, learning new software, with proven skills in Microsoft Office
▪     Oral fluency in Mandarin and English

Job Specific Expectations will be assigned from the following:
  • Serve as guardian of the brand to build and enhance the brand in order to affect word-of-mouth and enrollment.
    • Ensure the use of consistent design and messaging using the brand guidelines
    • Develop extensions of the brand to enhance and add stature to the brand imagery in a way that aligns with the school story and messaging.
    • Work with all official school logos including the corporate logo, the classic phoenix, and Blaze logo and serve as the final approval when these brand elements are requested for use by others in the school.
  • Implement an annual strategic marketing plan and process
    • Consult with school administration as needed to ensure the implementation of defined marketing strategies.
    • Develop web marketing strategies, objectives and implementation that can be directly tied to outcomes in Admissions.
  • Work to:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with publications to pursue PR opportunities and showcase major Concordia events and activities.
    • Identify and negotiate contracts with key local and international publications in alignment with annual strategic marketing plan.
    • Manage advertisements in the branding platform and using strategic ad campaign.
  • Ensure integrated marketing communications school wide, including but not limited to:
    • Communicate marketing goals and strategies to all departments school-wide.
    • Manage facility marketing including facelifts as needed to support Admissions tours or messaging and screens around campus as needed.
    • Manage Social media and Corporate Relations
  • Organize, manage, and coordinate the staff.
    • Work with team on all personnel related materials and actions.
    • Manage the budget.
    • Ensure the development of all creative communication projects in line with brand image and messaging, school goals, and allocated budget.
  • Develop content for Marketing projects.
