Job brief
Note: This is a full-time, outsourced position through Pactera, but working for our client. You will be working closely with the internal team on-site, fully integrated into the department.
We are looking for a copyeditor responsible for supporting the translation, localization, and creation of English-language materials for global audiences. Teams from across the company will rely on you to serve as their expert in cross-cultural communications.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with translators to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of translation deliverables, including executive communications, press releases, strategy guides, social media content, technical white papers, documents from various departments (HR, Finance, supply chain, procurement), and more.
- Collaborate with the editor team to research and create language and quality standards that can be applied company-wide to improve the quality of written and spoken materials.
- Provide regular trainings and case studies for the translation and broader corporate communications teams on cross-cultural communications and language.
- Support other department’s efforts to communicate the company’s key messages as needed.
Requirements
- Native-level English fluency, with excellent written communication skills and a strong command of formal grammar; proficiency in Chinese and other languages preferred.
- Linguistic background or experience working as a copyeditor preferred.
- Familiarity with various media and communication channels and the ability to adapt copy to suit the needs of specific target audiences preferred.
- Comfortable working with technical experts to absorb and then summarize highly specialized and technical content in a clear and succinct manner for more general audiences.
- Strong research skills, creativity, and a collaborative spirit, as well as excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Must be qualified to work in the People’s Republic of China (visa application support will be provided)
