Job Description

Directly affiliated with China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-built by the Ministry of Education, CFAU offers a unique educational experience that prides itself in intellectual integrity and academic excellence.

CFAU has an about 2,300 student population composed of Ph.D., MA, BA, and more than 100 international students. The University has eight departments and one specialized institute focusing on education & research, including Department of Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs Administration, Department of English & International Studies, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of International Law, Department of Basic Education, Department of Graduate Studies, School of International Economics, School of International Education, and Institute of International Relations. Additionally, CFAU has more than thirty research institutes and centers, including the Institute of Asian Studies, the Institute of International Law, and the Chinese Foreign Policy Studies Center. Students are able to specialize in subjects such as diplomatic studies, English, Translation & Interpreting, French, Japanese, Spanish, International Law, International Economics & Trade, Finance, International Relations and World Politics, etc.

Job Profile:

  • Language: English
  • Working hours per week: 14 Class Hours
  • Start date of each year: August or September
  • End date of each year: Mid-July

Responsibilities:

Course: Oral English, Topical Discussion, Academic Writing, Specialized Courses on International Relations, International Laws, International Economics and Literature etc.
Research:International Relations, International Politics, Global or Regional Affairs, etc.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have
(i) at least two years of working experience in the related teaching fields;
(ii) at least a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Laws, International Economics or Literature;
(iii) aged 25-60;
(iv) other requirements suggested by the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs;
(v) Preference will be given to those native speakers with an equivalent TEFL/TSEOL certificate or with higher academic qualifications and recent experience on university teaching.

Applicants should have strong communication and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and as a team with colleagues to enhance the existing strength in language teaching and academic research; capacity to work under pressure and multi-task; and flexibility with the university schedule.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.

Appointment will be made on contract basis for up to one or two academic years commencing around late August every year.
