I. Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Program

Application Requirements

Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, uphold scientific ethics, and embody the spirit of scientists in the new era.
Born on or after January 1, 1984.
Hold a Ph.D. degree.
Research areas: Within the scope of the school’s 7 departments and 2 think tank disciplines.
Generally, have held a formal teaching or research position in overseas universities, research institutions, or corporate R&D institutions after obtaining a Ph.D., with at least 36 consecutive months of work experience. Requirements for work experience may be relaxed for outstanding candidates with overseas Ph.D. degrees.
Recognized by peers for research or technological achievements, with potential to become a leader or outstanding talent in the field.
Not yet fully returned to China for work, or returned after January 1, 2023. Must resign from overseas employment and work full-time in China for no less than 3 years upon receiving funding.The application system will be open on 1stFeb. 2024 to 15th Apr. 2024, and the website is https://grants.nsfc.gov.cn/.

II. Young Top-Notch Talent Program

Application Requirements

Abide by Chinese laws and regulations, uphold scientific ethics, embody the spirit of modern scientists.
Hold a Ph.D. degree, physically and mentally healthy.
Generally, not older than 45 years for Type A positions, and 40 years for Type B positions.
Broad academic vision, innovative thinking, recognized by academic peers. Type A candidates should have outstanding achievements and be among the top in their field, with potential to become academic leaders. Type B candidates should have shown promise in their field, ranking among the best of their peers, with strong academic potential.

Benefits

Tenured position, title of Professor (Type A) / Associate Professor (Type B), Ph.D. supervisor; exclusive doctoral and master student recruitment quotas.
Research startup funds of over 500,000 CNY.

III. Assistant Professor

Application Requirements

Abide by Chinese laws, uphold scientific ethics, and embody the spirit of modern scientists.
Hold a Ph.D. degree, physically and mentally healthy.
Generally not older than 32 years.
Demonstrated significant achievements in the relevant field, among the best of peers, with strong academic potential; research direction should align with “focusing on the forefront of world science and technology, the main battlefield of the economy, major national needs, and public health”.

Benefits

Title of Assistant Professor / Assistant Research Fellow, eligible to apply for the title of Master’s Supervisor.
Salary: Base annual salary of 400,000 CNY + approximately 80,000 CNY/year for social security and housing fund contributions by the school + income from research and social services + contract task bonuses + other performance rewards.
Eligibility to apply for the “Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities”.
Rental of school apartment or housing allowance of 1,500 CNY/month.
