Beibu Gulf University (BGU) is a comprehensive University with its strength inengineering, science and management. The university is located in Qinzhou, a coastal city by the Beibu Gulf of Guangxi, China. Its campus, with coastal scenery and buildings in architectural styles of South China and South-East Asian countries, was appraised as a 3-Ascenicspot by Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi in 2018, making it a positive study environment.

BGU is a university co-sponsored by Guangxi government and National Maritime Safety Administration of China, and also a pilot university for integration of industry and education approved by Ministry of Education of China. Currently, BGU offers 10 postgraduate programs and 53 undergraduateprograms (including 2 national-level first-class programs and 18 provincial-level first-class programs) for 21,766 full-time students. In October 2021, BUG was approved by Guangxi Department of Education as one of Doctoral Program Construction universities in Guangxi.

Eastern Michigan Joint College of Engineering,Beibu Gulf University(hereinafter referred to as BEEC) is the first Sino-foreign operative educational institution at undergraduate level in Guangxi officially approved by Ministry of Education of China in May 2021. It is an international and innovative college jointly established by Beibu Gulf University (BGU) and East Michigan University (EMU), based on the need of cultivating engineering talents to promote economic development of Guangxi. BEEC strives to cultivate high-quality applied talents with international vision and literacy, good intercultural exchange ability and global competitiveness.

The college plans to enroll 300 students each year for 5 undergraduate programs, i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Design Manufacture & Automation, Project Cost and Internet of Things Engineering, of which Mechanical Engineering is a national first-class undergraduateprogramme. All specialized courses taught in bilingual or English. By adopting the mode of dual student status (BGU and EMU), and four-years study in China. Upon completion of the programme, students will be awarded with double degrees (BGU and EMU).

2. Salary and Benefits

2.1 Basic salary according to title and rank.

2.2 Other benefits:

(1) Settlement Allowance and Housing Purchase subsidy (before tax): RMB150,000 Yuan to 1400,000 Yuan.

(2) Research startup fund: RMB 50,000 Yuan~500,000 Yuan. The research startup fund will be managed according to government-sponsored project and paid annually according to candidates’research plan.

4. Registration Requirements

(1) Have a strong sense of devotion to the People’s Republic of China, and abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China.

(2) Have a good professional ethic, and passion in higher education.

(3) Have rigorous working attitude, pioneering and innovative, with strong sense of dedication, responsibility and team work.

(4) Proficient in English language, professional excellence in relevant field and international vision, and able to teach in English or bilingually.

(5) Physically and mentally healthy, meet the recruitment Requirements.

(6) The candidate of master’s degree holder shall be under 30 years old (i.e. born after January, 1992). Candidates over 35 years old (i.e. born after January, 1987) could be recruited as well, subject to the excellence. The limitation on the age of candidates who hold doctoral degree would be relaxed appropriately. No age limitation on candidates of doctoral degree with the title of Professor who show teaching and research excellence.

(7) Candidates of Fresh graduates shall obtain relevant academic qualifications and degrees before July 2022. Candidates with overseas certificate and degree shall gain its attestation by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), Ministry of Education, China.

 

5. Recruitment Process

(1) Sign-up

A. Sign-up deadline: doctors will be recruited all year round, and the sign-up deadline for master’s degree holder is 17:00 on February 18, 2022.

B. Registration: Candidates shall fill in the Candidate Materials of Beibu Gulf University (Attachment 1) and the Candidate Information Summary of Beibu Gulf University (Attachment 2), and send the electronic version to the corresponding mailbox.

After receiving the examination notice, candidates shall prepare 7 copies of corresponding paper materials and relevant original supporting materials for verification on site. Candidates shall submit application materials as required. Those who fails submit as required would be considered as invalid registration and fail to pass the qualification assessment.

(2) Qualification Assessment

The University will conduct qualification assessment on candidates based on the materials provided by the candidates during registration, and preliminarily select the qualified ones. The qualification assessment runs through the whole recruitment process. If it is found that the candidate’s materials do not meet the university’s recruitment or the inauthenticity of the materials, the candidate’s qualification will be cancelled.

(3) Written Examination and Interview Qualification

A. Doctor candidates do not need to take the written examination, and proceed to the Interview. A 15-20 minutes’ academic report is required during the interview.

B. Master candidates who have passed the qualification assessment could participate in the written examination. The list of candidates participating the written examination will be re-announced.

Candidates with a written test score of no less than 60 would come to the interview procedure. The written examination results will only be used as the basis of interview selection, and will not be included in the final results. Those who fail to participate in the written examination or interview due to personal reasons will be considered as waiver.

(4) Written Examination and Interview Arrangement

The written examination and interview will be organized based on a 1:3 ratio of each vacancy to its candidates. When fails to reach such ratio due to special circumstances, the university would adjust the ratio according to the actual number of qualified candidates. If that case, the time and place of written examination and interview would be re-announced.

A. Written test content (Full Score: 100)

The written examination will be conducted in a closed-book mode.The written examination for teaching and scientific research positions mainly tests the candidates’ professional ethics, professional norms and their mastery and application of relevant professional basic knowledge and skills. The specific written examination subjects will be announced correspondingly.

B. Interview content (Full Score: 100)

The interview of teaching and scientific research positions will be conducted in the form of trial lecture and questions. The trial time is 15-20 minutes, and the specific trial subjects and chapters will beannounced correspondingly. The trial lecture is mainly tested and evaluated the candidate from the aspects of teaching design, teaching process, teaching content, teaching methods, basic teaching skills and teaching characteristics.

The interview results will be ranked from high to low, and the candidate to be assessed will be determined based on a 1:1 ratio of each vacancy to candidate with the highest interview score. The written examination, interview results and the list of candidates to be assessed will beannounced correspondingly.

(5) University approval

The University determines the candidates according to the written examination and interview of the candidates.

(6) Assessment

The University will assess the candidate to be employed. The assessment focuses on political and ideological quality, morality, candidate’s matching degree with the position, work experience, etc. In order to ensure talent quality and job matching, if there is no appropriate candidate, the recruitment of the position will be cancelled.

(7) Physical examination

The University will inform the candidate to be employed for a physical examination in Grade-A Tertiary hospital. The physical examination will be carried out with reference to the one for civil servant employment.

(8) Publicity and employment

The candidate with a qualified physical examination report will be publicized for 7 days, and will go through relevant procedures (e.g. sign employment contracts, implement the probationary period based on relevant regulations)WITHOUTreceiving feedback of objections. During the probationary period, if any violation of laws and disciplines and candidate’s ethics are found by consulting the file, the employment relationship will be terminated.
