Job Description

Ningde Normal University (NNU) is pleased to announce English teaching positions within its College of Languages and Cultures. Qualified candidates should be native-like English speakers who hold a bachelor’s degree and a TESOL/TEFL certificate, and are in good health. Candidates with previous teaching experience will be given preferential consideration.

NNU offers a salary of (7500.00RMB) and (8500.00RMB) for a bachelor and a master per month respectively, as well as other benefit packages. Each hired teacher will receive RMB 2000.00 travel allowance for summer and winter holiday vacations and RMB 8000.00 yearly airfare allowance. In addition to summer and winter vacations, the foreign teachers will not teach in all other Chinese holidays neither.

NNU will provide an apartment with two bedrooms, one living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Apartments are furnished with living room furniture, television, refrigerator, automatic washing machine, beds, sheets and quilts, as well as other items such as desks, chairs and bookcases. The foreign teachers need to pay a little bit for the use of some utilities including network, electricity, gas, water, heating, and maintenance.

Obligations of the foreign teachers include 12-14 teaching hours per week. Besides, they take turns in hosting English Corner activities which take place once a week.The main subjects to be taught are Oral English, English Speech and Debate, English Writing, Business English, Survey of English Spoken Countries, etc. The English majors have studied English for about ten years and are eager to learn English with warm-hearted and enthusiastic native-like English speakers.

Upon completion of the one-year contract, NNU and the foreign teachers can discuss a second one-year contract with a salary raise of 200RMB per month. The one-year contract can be be renewed upon the agreement of both parties.
