The University of Arizona seeks individuals for full-time positions teaching courses in academic writing for undergraduate students in a dual-degree program at Ocean University of China (OUC) in Qingdao. Instructors will teach the equivalent of four Foundations Writing courses per semester, participate in annual program assessment, and assist with up to two hours/week of program activities (e.g., discussion groups, movie nights) for students. Teachers work within the University of Arizona Writing Program curriculum and receive teacher support from our main campus in Tucson, Arizona.
We seek instructors with a strong background in teaching college-level writing to English as an additional language (EAL) users. The ideal candidates will have knowledge and experience in second language writing, genre-based instruction, and content-based instruction, and they will have an interest in living and teaching in an intercultural environment in China.
Compensation package is equivalent to an annual salary of $45,000 USD. And OUC would provide other subsidies- medical insurance, heating expenses, rental cost and so on
Duties & Responsibilities:

Teach Foundations Writing courses within the University of Arizona Writing Program curriculum(at least 12 class hours per week)
Participate in weekly faculty meetings and occasional professional development opportunities
Assist in student and program assessment, as needed
Assist in extracurricular activities, as needed
Subject to OUC’s administration as a full-time staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

MA in TESOL or related field
At least two years of experience teaching at the university level, including at least one year teaching English as an additional language (EAL) writers
