HS English Teacher / Head of English Department – American International School Hong Kong

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring educator, keen to work with colleagues and students in a highly collaborative, future-focused learning environment to join and lead our High School English department. Possessing the skills to support and collaborate with colleagues is critical. Experience with teaching a variety of English topics, as well as the ability to develop and refine curriculum. Our goals are to prepare students with future ready skills that develop collaboration and have strong real-world connections. The initial contract is for a period of two years, beginning 1 August, 2025.
Our English curriculum is designed to challenge students at the level that is right for them rather than being a traditional grade level focused program. As well as honing their literary analysis, students develop vital skills in critical reading, effective writing, active listening and confident speaking. The program is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and the College Board’s AP syllabi. Our English department offers several AP level English courses, which are also aligned to the Common Core Standards.
To support holistic growth for every student, all our faculty facilitate a Homeroom Advisory class, offer extracurricular opportunities, and participate in our annual overseas Outdoor Education & Leadership Program.
