Position Overview:
Qingdao Amerasia International School (QAIS) invites experienced and passionate educators to join our vibrant team as an IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) English Language & Literature Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek a dedicated individual who is enthusiastic about shaping young minds and nurturing a lifelong love of literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:
Engage and Inspire: Deliver the IB MYP English Language & Literature curriculum with passion and creativity, fostering a dynamic classroom environment where students can explore and appreciate the power of language and storytelling.
Cultivate Critical Thinking: Develop lessons that encourage students to think critically and analytically about literary texts, enhancing their ability to interpret and express complex ideas.
Foster a Love of Reading and Writing: Inspire students to become avid readers and effective writers, providing them with opportunities to explore diverse genres and develop their unique voices.
Integrate Global Perspectives: Use Qingdao’s rich cultural setting to connect literature to global contexts, encouraging students to explore diverse perspectives and narratives from around the world.
Collaborate and Innovate: Work with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects that link language and literature with other subject areas, promoting a holistic and integrated approach to learning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience teaching IB MYP English Language & Literature or a similar curriculum, with a strong understanding of the IB philosophy.
Passion for literature and a commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
A collaborative spirit and a readiness to contribute to the school community.
