PayPal Global Data Science team(GDS) is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join the team and take an important role in one of the team’s current domains – build horizontal data science projects, infrastructures and solutions serving all data science teams in GDS, focusing on enabling complex insights from our data by leveraging large scale clustering, building PayPal Graph&Linking intelligence and Anomaly detection solutions and infrastructures.
Principal job responsibilities include data science projects based on cutting-edge modelling tech/infra/data sources to serve other GDS teams to deliver higher standard products, investigating and establishing understanding on production feasibilities, and communication with up/downstream teams to make everything happen, while playing a key part of creating a new team from scratch.

- Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience as a data scientist. Experiences on leading an ML product or an ML team – an advantage
- Code writing capability in common programming language for DS(Python is a must. Preferably with SQL/Scala/Java) and familiarity with relevant ML packages (TF, Pytorch, etc.). Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent English communication skills – an advantage
- Clear analytical mindset and deep understanding of ML
- Hadoop experience (MapReduce, PIG, Hive, Spark/Pyspark) – an advantage
- Graph DB experience – an advantage
- Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented
